'89 110 V8 was running perfectly, reversed it into the yard to do some electrical mods. Went to start it a couple of days later, on checking the gear stick, found it was locked up [in neutral], consequently starts OK, but can't select a gear! Minimal movement in the stick, backwards, forwards, or side ways, and no give in the resistance.
If anyone has had a similar experience, and would like to suggest a probable cause, I would be grateful to hear from them. No great mechanic, despite having owned and been around Landies for over 40 years! but have all the manuals, and always willing to have a go

Well some one has to start the ball rolling !
I have heard, that there is a stop on the reverse gear selector, that can get dislodged, this can then drop between 1st and 3rd, and effectively lock up the selector, hence the rigidity of the gear stick. The weather hasn't given me any encouragement to get out there yet, so there is still time for some anorak to be a knight in shining armour
