LT77 Clutch alignment tool

I need a clutch alignment tool suitable for an LT77 gear box. I have previously borrowed a friends but it is probably time I got my own. His is a nice piece of machined steel which he bought very cheaply off ebay. However looking now i can only find horrible plastic alignment tools. There are nice metal ones for later models but there do not seem to be nay about for the earlier boxes. I am off to newbury at the weekend and may find one there but does anyone know where else I could get a proper metal one?

Before any one suggests I just use an input shaft from an old gearbox, I would happily do that but, I don't have an old gearbox so am still in the same position of needing to buy one!
 
Socket wrapped in insulating tape to take up the slack, use a deep socket if you can.

You really don't need one, I will second, third, forth, where ever we are now the extension bar and socket method. I actually usually just use an extension bar in the centre and rattle it round in a conical/turning motion until I can see the plate is dead centred - there is actually some play on the driven section of the plate via the springs etc so it's not like a 0.0mm tolerance thing.
 
Being tightfisted, I have used the very old plastic handle on a very old screwdriver, which even has the grip slightly reduced at the end.
It has served me well through my Series I, Series II, Series III, 90 and now my 110.
They just don't make 'em like that any more ;);)
 
I have all of the thing mentioned above bar @Oldseadog 's screwdriver which sounds older than I am! I will give it go with these and see how I get on, but at the same time I will keep my eye out for a nice solid metal tool, as I think it was only a couple of pounds and I do like collecting tools :oops:
