i have a 4L se range rover which when i run it on petrol it runs perfect but latley when i run it on gas after about 10 minuets it dies on me just cuts out .when i looked under the bonet i noticed i think its the regulater was covered in ice ,is this causing the problem. if i let it thaw out it runs fine again for another 10 minuites.is there a cure or is it spend spend spend.any advice please

Hi are you sure theres no leak of gas from the unions on the regulator ? Ice on a regulator says you have a gas leak on one of the pipe unions. Try removing it and replacing the pipes and or unions the ones you should be using are the wierd round cadmium ones which you squeeze with pliers and not jubilee clips.

If this does'nt do the trick then you have a faulty regulator which will need replacing

Hi
This is a water circuation problem liquid gas requires heat when vaporising to prevent it freezing look at the water supply

thanks gas man i will check all the pipework for blockages .could this also be caused by switching to gas before water gets to the right tempreture

Hi
I ranRange Rovers for the last 20yearsand had mo problems with gas systems fitted. Autogas 2000 Ltd was my business befor my retirement due to a strke. The problem with yours freezing is poor circulation each of the two water pipes should be Td in to the heater hosesthen to the regulator ,and if you hold the reg as the engine is runing you should feel it star to get hot after a few minutes, but ifit starts to freeze stop the engine and cheque the circulation. Mu old R/Rover developed a water leek on the radiator and the gas regultor would freez after about 1 mile. Also cheque`the regulator is not mounted a lot higher tham the engine water level this can also cause icing
Hop all this will help
Regards the gas man
