My cooling system is doing my head in as it wont stop overheating.
Its not the block and maybe the thermostat, but I just released the cap on the expansion tank to try and depressurise and it smelt of lpg.
Now recently at a visit to my local lpg centre in huntingdon(great guy James likes a laugh but does a good neat job) a prins american v8 was in for insurance work. LPG got through the vapuriser and into the water. Caused a fire in the engine bay.
I'm going to run her up on petrol next time and see what results I get from that. Anyone know of similar and the syptoms.

The vaporisers are heated by the engine coolant so its not impossible for the two to meet. Do as you say, but also bypass the vaporiser heating circuit and see what happens.

Are you SURE its LPG yer smellin & NOT HYDRO-CARBONS .. (They do "Smell" Similar) ...If I were you I'd whizz it into the local MOT station & get the guys to do a SNIFF TEST on the expansion tank.

(They will push their Emmissions tester probe into the tank & if it registers Hydro-Carbons then yer HG is Stuffed )

Will doe Claw after I've tried on Petrol. If I was a betting man I'd put 50p its gas in the water. Spoke to 2 lpg places now and sounds like it to me, but dont be surprised if I'm back on here with another theory. Heres hoping

I spent £2500 changing the engine on mine only for the same thing to happen prins vaporizer rot the back plate seal and let lpg into the cooling system and at high pressure mine was so bad it would blow the coolant out of the header tank. I was told by 2 'experts' on engines that i had a slipped liner.
