I have just got my range rover and haven't tried lpg system yet as last owner said it needed servicing and he hadn't used it since new engine fitted and that it needed to be run in before used ,
basically can anyone help as im unable to find a garage locally that will service and test as yet as my mechanic said he wasn't sure of anyone so was wondering if any one can help im in Suffolk ipswich and looking for a garage that deals in lpg that is fair on pricing

any help gratefull

Not the cheapest I expect, but RPI engineering, near Norwich will set it up properly. Its just a question of whether they will or try to sell you a new front end kit and ECU chip
Avoid taking pot luck, there are some dodgy installers out there

there used to be one in Needham Market if I remember correctly - have you just gone to Morrisons, put some gas in and tried it? I'm nearby and know a bit about LPG...............................

Better still, seeing as you've got a nice new engine that's not yet been run on LPG - stick to petrol
A 3.5RV8 should be ok but there are risks attached to the use of gas in any of the 94mm bore engines - do a search on here & make your own decision, don't just be influenced by the cheaper fuel costs.

thanks for your replys all am going to pop over to garage in the morn so lets see what they charge
and have a chat with them to see if they any good

thanks all
nick keep you informed if they are any good

top hat im not sure will check paper work in a bit
rpi where are they so I know who not to go too was meant to go today to garage in Ipswich but work commitments stopped me
and all I got done today was new plugs and k n filter
trying to change everything over next couple of weeks so I know everything done and using posts to pinch ideas of what parts to fit as I haven't got a clue but am getting there with lots of reading and a manual
hopefully one day I mite be able answer a post for someone ???

I guess this is a fuel inject system v8 mine old v8 3.5 on SUs pots was direct lpg unit bigas. You should have a service certificate and fitting cert with the lpg also possible registered with AutoLPG. Do not fill or use until checked to safety reasons as leaks can developed from cracking opening the valves. You could switch on to see how much is in the tank without starting first by the toggle switch and look at a dial on the tank, pending where fitted torpedo style underneath or tyre style in the boot or cylinder type taking up most of the boot space. Injects are sods because of the nature balance between gas and petrol while the open system like old one was lot easier tweek.

thanks for your reply
I will check tank shortly and I have got autogas ticket and service ticket just not recent one that's why im cautious on this and will defo get service on lpg side of it before use just trying to get head around all of lpg system and how it works and possible fault`s without messing about with it have found a couple of things ,small issues but need sorting anyway like I want pipes front end replaced and a couple of parts fitted more securely and in the right position basically want it revamped if its worth the cost of doing so
cheers for your reply and all others
nick

on petrol running good the only thing I did notice today catalytic converter sounded tinny on reving a little so I guess that's failed and broken inside or will be sooner rather than later I wanted to replace it wasn't thinking of changing that till this afternoon as it looks still in good condition
