Im seriously thinking of getting an lpg conversion on my defender 90. it has 3.5 Rover V8 fitted with twin SU carbs.

How much does this sort of upgrade usually cost?

Will the benifits outway the initial costs!

Im living in the tadcaster are of north yorkshire and was wondering if anyone could recomend a decent place thats fairly local to me?

Cheers, Scott

WTV-UK Autogas LPG Conversion Kits

Use links on the left, don't know how the price compares but it will give you an idea, amazing on google aint it

Just a note of caution with that LPG parts retailer... don't expect any customer service or support.
Tinley Tech are a bit more expensive, but in my experience very very helpful and have some "home made" documentation for conversions that is better than the suppliers stuff.
Since it's on carbs your only real option for the type of LPG system is an open loop single point (unless you want to retro-fit a lambda probe to the exhaust)

I ran a 3.9 RR classic on such a system for years, fortunately for me, at the time the LPG price was 30p/l and petrol was about 80p/l.... these days the price difference is more like 50p/l LPG vs 1.00£/l for petrol, so the pay-back period is not as great.

I'd budget somewhere around 600 to 800 for a conversion, I know I guy in Halifax that used to fit them, if you want I could look his details up. (Although he might not be fitting them)

Make sure you are aware of the issues w.r.t. fitting certification and insurance.
