Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but I couldn't find anything on search.

Having justified buying a v8 by getting one with LPG, im looking at ways of protecting my under sill tanks to allow some off road fun!

It looks like diff armour will help with leading and trailing edges with a little modification, but that leaves the belly still exposed.

Anyone tried to address this before?

I had this problem with the very first Disco I owned.
Heavy duty tank straps that are welded to the chassis rather than suspended from the floorpan are strongest, couple this with a four inch lift and 265/70 16 tyres and the vulnerability of those lpg tanks never became an issue again

I made some plates to cover a friends lpg tank on his 110. Just made them from 8mm aluminium plate and on the brake press, folded them to the correct profile... a few holes and they bolted straight on.

Ideally you want tanks inside. The kids will be fine on the roofrack but the LPG ought to go inside ;)
