lower door hinge needs replacing on my Defender 110 59 plate, anybody know how to fix it

firstly, which door are you referring to?
If it's a standard hinge, you could heat it up, knock out the pin and replace it with an 8mm Sellock pin after reaming the holes out to 7.9mm.
It's a fiddle, even with the right tools, or you would be cheaper (unless you have a very comprehensive tool kit) to go out and buy replacements.

passenger side got new hinge painted up ready to go on was wondering about lining door up .IAM getting water in off roof channel I hope new hinge will solve this thanks

A second person is very useful to line the door up, but it is possible single handed. Do one hinge at a time and use the bolts through the door to get you started. Have a look at the videos on line.

get the hinges on, and I would do both while you have the door apart, shut the door, move it to line it up how you want it, and then tighten the bolts
the door seals are only as good as the flatness/straightness of the door frame!

thanks for advice lads got hinge on lined door up perfect but still gap around seal looks like passengers will have to rap up warm .
I think that is the problem I had with mine. The door itself is not flat and despite trying to bend it over my knee to improve it made very little difference and is the reason i could not get it to line up perfectly. Mine are not the original doors (series doors) which I am sure doe snot help either.

When I replaced the passenger door on my 90 there was enough room at the top for a limbo dancer to get in.
It was a case of knee against the door,grab the top of the frame and heave.Some crinkling of the steel uprights resulted but the door now seals and door card covers the crinkles.Did think of cutting and welding but could not be arsed.
