loud ticking sound

hi all, i have a disco 2 with a slight problem, it has started making a strange ticking like sound which i think is coming from the power steering pump, ive had to a local garage and was told that it was the alternator that was at fault but when the engine is at idle it defo sounds as if its coming from the pump area, has any one had the same problem or can anyone give me any advice?

i did have to replace a bearing on one of the idlers as it collapsed when pulling off from a round about which also buggered up the belt and the noise has only been there since after i had it repaired.

any help would be grately appreciated

Nah, jest been hanging around on this God foresaken ****heap of a forum for waaaaay too long to actually answer a genyouwhine enquiry seriously at gone midnight o'clock.

ah well thats fair enough, just realised the time myself think ill go have a tab then head to my bed and see if theres any joy the morn, take it easy mate will hopefully catch you again sometime.

u sometimes get a ticking from a injetor not seating right?
