Loud ticking noise

I hope that's what it is.

As it is only there when the engine is under load it really speaks to a manifold gasket.

Just to let you know my ticking problem which sounded like tappets has been solved it was the pully on the fan and AC belts. would never have believed it could be this,AC compressor was also changed.

Update its back and I,m extremely depressed. Garage has done work on the car and sent it back to me saying it was all running well. This morning I go to the top of my road(it is uphill) as soon as I put it into second gear with some load on the engine there it is a metallic ticking noise just like before, I really cannot believe it, also i.m just amazed they didn't pick it up. Looks like in the new year I will send it to my LR main dealer who also specialises in the old girls.

Have you been able to make a video of the noise?

Is this exclusive to this particular dealer? Or do all Italian dealers look after the oldies?

This dealer is LR approved but its much more like a specialist with more off the off-roader stuff there and is privatley run. The others i have visited in Italy are like the uk ones and seem just as useless.
