I was out with my mate last night. Then after a bit of wered clunking, he lost drive and his handbrake, any ideas before we start taking things apart

Yeah, it has to be. Probably the rear UJ gone or the splines worn if there's nothing obvious hanging down.

Not if the handbrake ain't working too - gotta be somewhere along the rear prop (or possibly within the axle - drive shaft or diff?) but most likely the prop.

Cheers guys thought it must be along there somewhere my mat started going on about getting a new gearbox but i said it cant be cos the hand brake comes in after that. Although he does want to put a new gearbox in anyway cos hes got a v8 with a 4 speed. anyone know if a disco LT77 will go straight on.

Take back prop off and stick it in Diff lock. If it's still makin' horrible noises, take the half shafts out and run it as a two wheel drive
