Well i would say there is no positive selection in my view.Going to get back to it tomorrow rain and lack of light stopped play.

Well finally sorted it.It was as i thought the transfer box was stuck in neutral.Turned out to be a loose selector on the shaft going across the top of the box.nipped the grub screw up and its sorted just need to work out now why h and low back to front ?
