loss of water ?

Hi everyone i know of the problems about water loss on the p38 4.0 + 4.6 , i have a 1999 4.6, mine has been ok since i bought it may 08 but since the weather has got a bit chilly the boss has put the heater to high when she is in the car, since that i have noticed a drop of about 1 inch to 1 1/2 . i have checked to see if there are any leeks but cannot find any ,has anyone any ideas where i might be loosing water?.

Just have a look on the carpet inside the car, drivers side footwell, on the left hand side, under the dash as there are some rubber o-rings in the pipes that fail.....does it smell of coolant inside the car?

more than likley the O rings on the heater matey... I had the same problem with my 1998... wasnt untill i put some anti freeze in that was red that i noticed it dripping into the car on the passanger side footwell. It, from what i was told can be a little tricky as most of the dash has to be removed but there was a guy on here that would come out and so the the hole job and from what i remember the price was quite fair.

unfortnatly mine caught fire before i had chance to have the heaters done.. dont worrie nothing to do with the water loss. it was due to gear box oil..

Hi thanks for you reply but i have had the carpet up and it is bone dry? my mate has a pressure tester so i will give that a go and see what happens ?
