Just off to work this morning and ofund on the first hill the powerwas not there in the same way as normal. struggled to rev it. I went to fill up with fuel as I was getting low to make sure it was nothing to do with that.

Carried on my journey and it only got worse.

I would put push the accelorator an get reves then lift the clutch and loose it, it would not stall it. Tick over is fine but no power when going. It would inprove momenteraly and then just loose it again. I never managed to get over 20mph on the whole journey.

I tried emptying the fuel filter thinking it was that, no difference.

Called the AA gor recovered home, he thought it was an air issue?

I think it might be the sediment bowl or crap in the tank.

Any other ideas.

Thanks

The hoses look and feel ok, took the inlet hose of at the intercooler end and tried it, it was still struggling to rev up.

I am still thinking it is a fueling thing?

I have the same issue on mine, altough I can still drive it alright, its just going uphill that I have nothing there...

So far what I've replaced and checked..

the hose that goes from the air filter to the turbo - had internal walls collapsed, so when the turbo sucks air in, this would close the air flow. Get one from a breakers, new is about 70quid... I emailed sellers on ebay that were breaking discos and got one.

Checked the wastegate on the turbo was open freely..

Checked the vaccum pipe from injection pump to turbo was not blocked or with holes

The hose coming off the turbo to the intercooler had a split, so replaced that one and all the other ones that go to the IC.

Now I've taken the intercooler out and flushed it with petrol....took me 5 flushs with petrol to clean all the ****e that was inside..

Havent tried it yet, but if this doesnt work then I'm going to check and maybe replace the lift pump...

take the hose that connects to the fuel filter.. turn the key on the ignition..
if the fuel comes flying out... its good, if it just dribbles....its fked..

yea, duzel only need two things to run fuel and air, also have you took the air filter out to see if that makes a difference?

what colour smoke coming out of the zorst?

You say you have had the fuel filter off, had you bled the filter housing after re-fitting?

I have had the air filter out, no change.
The smoke in very clean except at very high reves when I can get it there then it is white.
I did bleed the filter after ree fitting, I did that befer calling the AA

give yer hoses a squeeze.if they are supple they may be good.if crunchy and stiff try that one.if its collapsed you will see straight away.go to scrap yard if it is that and get what ever the right size. The isuzu/frontera has the right size pipe and i got stainless fer mine.strong.

I'd be checkin them hoses again, mates was doing this and turned out hose was collapsed inside.

So, no air hoese connected, the engine will rev up drawing in air then loose power and drop back to tickover almost stalling, with the accelorator flat out the is nothig for ages untill it picks up again.

The turbo is blowing well but obviously only when the engin is reving.

It seems like the injector pump is being non responsive to the accelorator maybe throught fuel stavation.

I am going to take the sedimenter apart and get a new fuel filter to see if that sorts it out. Having said tha the lift pump pulled through loads of fuel when it was not connected to the fuel filter so I am guesing it is a problem between the fuel filter and the injector pump.

Cheers
