hi all,

Just a quick query about a 90. Obviously landys aren't the most smooth of vehicles, but i'm fairly sure mine has started being more and more shaky and "loose feeling" for a few months, nothing worrying but it's pretty annoying. I've read that it can be down to bushes and stuff, also wheel nuts, but those are all very tight.

I got my MOT last week and it passed but the mechanic said some of the rear bushes needed replacing (not sure which ones, probably all) before the next test, do you reckon it'd be worth getting that done? or is it prohibitively expensive?

if anyone can point me in the right direction it'd be much appreciated

cheers, Will

Yes change them,

Bushes can look tight but when under load if worn can move a lot and cause wobble and other cruddy handling. Landrovers aren't smooth granted but they should be tight and have good manners, not loose and sloppy

Knacked dampers can cause a bit of vague handling but it sounds like bush wear.
As stated wheel bearings can have an effect as can wear in steering joints / track ends but as its just passed its MOT think it rules out steering and bearings.

Loose and wobbly is normal for a tratter. ;)

Ouch that was a bit close to the bone :D

Mmmm I would say it was more an issue with the damper or maybe track rod ends.
