Looking over the new to me P38A

Nice sunny day in Glasgow yesterday, so decided to look over the P38 I recently purchased. The Air suspension now working as it should. Began to take the tinted film off the rear window, lot of residue left on the glass, no meths to wipe the glass clean so put it back.

bonnet release cable needs replaced then noticed some components not quite right.

On the bulkhead behind the EAS box, there is some sort of electrical component with a small filter like you get for fuel lines, with a length of hose not attached to anything!! Don't know what this is

Thinking it may be something to do with cruise control?

On the front of the engine at the rocker cover(BMW 2.5 D) nearside, there is some kind of diaphram with a very short length of braised hose that has been blanked off with a screw!! Don't know where that hose is supposed to go

And between the engine and the EAS box, there seems to be something missing!! Two bolts are there on a bracket and a 3 pin plug attached to nothing. Don't know what should be there yet.

Ah well, hope somebody can shed some light on the above, as I have not found out from the workshop manual yet.

That's the EGR modulator valve, I assume the car is 99 or later.

Sounds like the EGR valve itself.

Need more info or a photo.

Ah well, hope somebody can shed some light on the above, as I have not found out from the workshop manual yet.
