looking for help

im looking for a little help.

My mate has recently just had fitted a V8 motor SD1 and new RC80 gear box from an M reg (94) Rangerover to his landy.

with the new gear box this has stoped the original cable driven speedo from working. We have been told the new gear box requires an electrical speedo.

We have purchased an electronic speedo but we are unsure how to make this work.

first problem is though, where about would we find the sender unit on the gear box?? does anyone have a workshop manual diagram??

also can this be converted to a cable drive for cable speedo??

or how would i conect the electronic speedo?? all we have is the speedo its self.

The RC80 conversions is a pritty common conversion with hybrids so there much b a way round this just cant figger it out :S

its an R380 box not RC80, sound simular when your on the phone etc lol

found the sender last night from a diagram i got from a member of 4x4uk. The problem is this, the sender unit usally runs to an ecu then from there runs to the speedo.

We have an electronic speedo here but require the wiring to run from the sender to the speedo. With the engine not requiring a ECU to run i am assuming that other vehicals were and have been set up in this way withou the ecu and that there is a wiring unit to run from the sender direct to the speedo (maybe with a little box of ticks in the middle) to give a speed reading.

am i right in thinking this and can anyone shed some light on this??
