I have driven various Discoveries since the 1980s and my father had a Defender in the 1960s.
My current discovery 3 (2005) is becoming unreliable and I am wondering what to get next as I think it is time to move on.

I am thinking of getting something like a PHEV. My priorities include being able to carry around equipment for gigs (A PA system, guitar and keybaord) as well as ideally having the option of 7 seats. I don't know, however, how practical getting all of these options is as it is difficult to tell from the Land Rover website.

Just bear in mind a petrol/diesel and electric car can be just as expensive to maintain as petrol/diesel only. You may not use petrol/diesel much but the engine will still need serviced regular. They're also more expensive to buy now, but prices are slowly falling as production volume increases.
