I bet its a dealer tracker.

My wife is an accountant for a franchise and they put trackers on there "vulnerable" cars.

Pretty scary, he said he was single (so no jealous partner) and the car was brand new and didn't sit on the forecourt.

I would convert the tracker so I could use it if my car got stolen.

They would have good luck getting mine, has no prop shafts in...

I'm afraid no propshafts is not going to help you... I've heard of plenty stolen with no battery, and a couple with no wheels on. They don't need to be able to drive it to nick it!

if you were a thieving barsteward,
a HIAB or simular is your friend.

just look at any banger racers pits-full of lorries with gibs on for loading dead cars up..

being once involved gives you a new slant on - its not got a prop, or wheels...

If It CAN be reached, it CAN be lifted my friends..

oh, and gone in seconds too....

Looks like this one GPS vehicle tracking Car tracker GL200 with magnetic box full server support | eBay

Not cheap!

I think if I found one I'd be tempted to post it somewhere.

This one IS cheap: Mini global tracker. Just over £20, and it apparently sends an SMS with its current location when it recieves a call from whoever knows its 'phone number.

In other words, most of the time it won't be transmitting, so even a broad-range radio scanner wouldn't spot it. I'm almost tempted to fit a GPS jammer, just in case, even though I'm not sure they're legal. Either that or get a metal garage and make it into a Faraday cage to stop any nasty little boxes 'phoning home while it's parked.

Both directions! So you did bangers n superstox? Lol that programme did banger racing no favours! I got some really good friends who still race today and have some class! My mate Steve (boogie) n his brother just got filmed by sky with a few others so hopefully they give it a better image! That programme made it look like a rough dirty thieving hobby!

Oh and that tracker is dodgy but could not not be a insurance thing from previous owner or has he bought the car new?

No offense to the people on it but, yeah it did come across as "we're all criminals who do this when we're out of prison.

though I'm surprised its not more tightly regulated.

if it was an insurance install it would have battery back up connection surely?

I was lucky to see about 10 mins of the banger racing programming, I saw a stripped down series 2a 109. It had no doors, screen folded down and the bonnet rattling. The bonnet came up and there was a screech of brakes. Funny to watch but not when it happens to you.
