I wonder if they filmed this - it would make a great TV programme. A great adventure.
What puzzles me is why they had to cross the Red Sea twice and transit Saudi Arabia.
Was it just for the hell of it - which I know from experience there would be an interesting side trip, or was there some political or logistical reason?
I like watching these kind of trips, but do get ****ed off when they use some road or ferry that the general public can't. Getting a transit visa for Saudi ain't easy.
Michael Palin is the worst - the BBC pulled some amazing strings for him travelling around the Adriatic - with the result some poor naive fools who tried to follow in his footsteps landed up in jail in Albania.
