Handbrake keeps locking up.... i'm gonna guess it's the rear flange output shaft bearing? or something?
The handbreak is properly adjusted...if it locks up, it can move, in low range, against the handbrakes will.
If i put the handbrake on, and release it again, it releases. What do you think it is?

If the rear bearing is bad you''ll be able to move the brake drum up and down.

Were it me I'd open it up and examine the springs and such - if one's gone bad you could have the shoes shifting, which then gets reset when you set and release the handbrake. Just speculating here, but if it's locking sommething in there is shifting.

Also, next time it locks put on diff lock and see if it still moves. if it doesn;t, then you might have been moving forward with the rear shaft ctuck/locked and the diff alllowing the front wheels to pull. Are the rear tyres skidding?

A good clean out can often sort this, specialy the hand brake expander. However the expander is often worn causing problems to return, not costly to replace.
Do as mrchurchill says and check drum shaft for movement.

Okay, i'll open the bugger up at some point. No, they were moving, they only locked up when a front wheel lost traction, loose mud.
