locked out of our p38

Hi,
I cannot get in to our 2001 p38. The problems started with the car randomly refusing to let us in after we changed the key batteries in November. Occasionally it would refuse let us in while using the transponder we could still open the door with the key but sometimes it would give us the eks lockout message when we tried to start the car. Then a few weeks back it stranded the wife in the local supermarket. My mechanic came out opened the car first time and reset the key and all seemed fine. Then it happened a few days later and they repeated the reset process and dropped the car home. An hour or two later the wife tried to get back in and the car was completely locked.

The key wont unlock the door manually we both tried the eks lockout sequence that we used to get in when we were stranded. However while the light on the dash was flashing throughout the sequence the door lock did not open.

I had to leave the car over christmas and have now come home to find the battery is dead and the car is non responsive to any attempts to get in

So can anyone point me to a how to for getting back in witout the use of half a brick?

Keep trying the key

I have one that has no battery on the vehicle and the key opens that ( Even if i hook a battery up) 1997 4.6 HSe

my other P38 l(2.5 dse) lost a battery out of the keyfob but that unlocked on the key had to lock and unlock a few times until the fob would work again

now all good

keep trying the key if not it maybe the brick cos i dont think you will get the bonnet up with the motor locked
