Locked out 1999 D2

Locked out of my 1999 disco td5. Battery is dead and the key doesn’t unlock the door...

any tips/pointers??!

You mean the main car battery?

If yes, then try recharging it using the starter motor connections.

Yeah, main battery, How would I be able to get to it? Car is locked so can’t pop open the bonnet.

From the underneath, you will get wet and dirty, top tip, use a torch.

Can you not fish for the bonnet release cable from underneath and open the bonnet to get at the battery?
Can you not put a battery on jump leads across the exposed cables related to the starter to put 12V into the system so it will respond to the keyfob?

Please tell us how you did it, as others may be in the same boat one day!

So I manually pulled the cable for the bonnet latch from underneath (it’s nice and open and easy to see) and then opened the bonnet, charged the battery up and was then able to open the cars using the keys. Since have put a new battery in so shouldn’t be a problem for a while.
