Does anyone know the location of the oil pressure switch on a VM 2.5 Tubo diesel engine. The workshop manual seems to suggest it is inside the engine  . I can't see it on the outside but then I could be looking in the wrong place.

Why am I looking.... the oil light stays on and it has been suggested that the switch may be faulty. Will also try changing the oil and filter as the last change was about in September and it has done about three thousand miles since then.

Last time I used Castrol Magnatec (Diesel) but perhaps I should use something else with the VM.

Cheers

It's not particularly clear, but hopefully you should be able to locate it from that image.

Thanks for your help Mathew and I have found the switch but in a different place to what is shown in your diagram. The switch on my engine is located on slightly above and to the rear of the starter motor. In fact its very close to the flywheel housing and I am not sure if it can be removed that easilly. I guess I will find out later today when the new switch arrived.

Kind regards
Mike
