;)Ayup! I'm Nige nice to meet you all! Just got my first Landy (had a Shogun before but I wrecked it!) Since buying her I went to fill her up and she started peeing fuel everywhere and just now the wheel nearly fell off so I guess I'm off to a flying start!

Hi mate she's an 02 plate td5 es with Alive Tuning. Actually a lovely motor, lovely drive but she's been stood a while, Now she's getting driven constantly! She needs a full new exhaust front bumper and her rear rails de-rusting and oiling for mot next year if anyone has any hints tips on doing that I would be grateful thanks!

Welcome to the looneyzone,

Loads of info available on here, the search box is a good place to start.

Any particular questions, then place them in the Discovery section.

Download a copy of the RAVE workshop manual, find a friend who has a nanocom or hawkeye for the D2 Td5.

Make sure you have the EA code.

Cheers

Hi Smithy and thanks for helping me out. The fuel leak was from the overflow so I sorted that dead easy thanks. The exhaust I'll take it in to a garage as I just don't have time atm to do myself and I don't want to mess it up tbh! Fuel economy is very important to me! (Should have bought a Honda Jazz!) The previous owner said I can get a de-cat exhaust for £100, is it worth getting a cat on an exhaust? Does the cat actually take out lots of noxious gases over a long period or is it a con please? I'm quite green in these respects (should have got a Prius!)

I think yours is already without a cat as it's an 02. I might be wrong. I know the later ones were fitted with cats as standard

I'm no exhaust expert, I decat'd mine with a straight centre pipe cuz I'm a yob

A cat will improve mpg marginally I Think, doubt you'd notice a difference. Not sure you can retro fit one if it wasn't standard.

Decat lets the turbo spool easier and you can hear the turbo whistle. I did mine in conjunction with a stage 1 remap with EGR delete/panel filter/silicone hoses. Also straight thru centre pipe and 'sports backbox'. Bit sad really but the lads at work with their audi S3/focus ST euro boxes love the sound

Hi mate, thanks again for your invaluable info. I'll have a butchers in morning to see if she's de cat. I have the egr delete and alive tuning already. More fussed about price differences between cat and decat than if she whistles or not. There's a full ss system on Shpock for £200. Tempted!
