hi guys
ive got the chance of buying a realy cheep p38 only problem is its had a front end bump! nothing serious that i cant fix but the seller said it went into limp mode as a result of the accedent
now 3 things
1 will an accident cause it to got into limp mode?
2 can this lock the air suspension? as its not working now and the seller said it was
3 how do i reset it?

Did the airbags fire? If so it will need a replacement SRS ECU. For the EAS, it will need diagnostics but unlikely to be anything serious.
Limp mode, I'm not sure why that would happen, when I ditched mine on the ice an airbag went off but it did not go into limp mode, is it gearbox or engine in limp mode.
You may have to replace the crash cans on the front of the chassis.

no air bags did not go off and its in engine limp
as for the damage its link is heer have a look
range rover p38 2.5 tdi | eBay
ive not been to look yet but i want to go armed with all the info i need

Looking at that, the airbags should have gone off IMO, the N/S crash can may be damaged.
Nothing there that should have caused it to go into limp mode. Diagnostics needed methinks.

I would leave well alone, by the time you get it home, repair the body, paint it and then sort out limp mode and suspension, you may as well put the extra cost on another model thats not knackered

Have got that one on my watch list too - interested to know what it goes for - the prices they go for on there seem to be odd - some really nice looking ones have gone for peanuts eg 98 4.0 SE with 118k on the clock £1200 - immaculate but with EAS fault and then yesterday a 96 4.6hse with NO engine and on steel wheels went for £660. Crazy stuff.

I've been bitten on ebay before with faults discovered on the way home - I'd be careful of that one given the mileage and faults at odd with what others on here are saying.
