I have a S3 24v lightweight that has been converted to diesel, just had a look around it and the engine seems to be 24 electric and the lights but just wondered what is 12v as it has a small fuse box in the engine compartment marked up as 12v. The wiring on it is one hell of a mess and it will take some sorting out.

I should check it out with a volt meter, might not be any 12v
Depending on the engine, any electrical parts will probably be 12v, temp gauge, fuel lifter pump?

What engine is fitted?...If its been converted to diesel its probably all 12v...if its got a 24v starter and glowplugs it will have 2 batterys...my 110 had a Nissan 3ltr 24v but everything else apart from starter and alternator and glows was 12v...

Its the 2.5 TD the one before the 200TDI, 19J I think they are known as, the alternator is 24V and its two battery's of course, most places I have tested seem to be 24v so far, the 12v tap on the battery is only a small wire so I don't think its anything heavy duty, I guess I could remove it and see what doesn't work? Just found out why the indicators don't work the hella unit had been mounted upside down and had been full of water.

If it was me I would convert the whole lot to 12v much easier to deal with...my 101 was 24v but petrol V8 but now 12v...

Had another quick look, the only 12v I can find in use is the fuel pump shut off solenoid which is wired into a separate switch so far every thing else is 24v. The small fuse box marked up as 12v is all 24v power.
Fitted new flasher unit but of course it does not work, seems to be no power at the steering wheel switch, I found a website which has some good pictures and diagrams, it may be the hazard switch, the aux relay or even the infra red switch system which stops the indicators from working but this is all disconnected so more tracing of wires.
I want to have this on the road by the 17th Oct it might be a tall order!

Thanks for the wiring diagram and the info on the switches that helps a lot to understand what it should be like.

Thanks for the help guys, indicators and hazards now working plus all the lights, wipers etc, had to change the flasher unit and the hazard switch to get them to work, the electrics are a mess, cables spliced in everywhere and relays all over the shop but never mind its working, got it on a ramp to check over the oils etc.
