Lights are on but know ones in.?

I dont want to tell anyone, on how to suck eggs so if you know this one then fine. Got into my landy first thing this morning and had no low beam lights. Every thing else worked. Checked light bulbs and all the fuses, wiring etc nothing. After lots of tea, night become day and the truck was legal to drive. Tail between my legs i drove to Rogers of Bedford knowing to well im going to have to spend my dinner money. Surprisingly, despite them being busy they all gave me help and told me it was one of two things. Switch or the relay. I already bypassed the switch so it had to be the relay. I didnt know about the relay. Its pink and hides behind the clocks, right hand side at the bottom. They told me to take it out and hit it with the screw driver and put it back in. It worked first time. They advised me to get it replaced as you cant always rely on it. No charge from Rogers and they generally seemed pleased for me. So a big thankyou to Rogers of Bedford.
