you can fit the LOF power master cylinder to both types of clutch pedal, as i have done it.
The spring assist only fits onto the flat bar type pedal though.

The clutch is so light with the LOF master cylinder that with the uprated spring and a new clutch the spring keeps the pedal down!!!

Do you think the LOF master is a worthwhile upgrade?

The LOF master and slave cylinders work by having a smaller bore, so they take a longer stroke to achieve the same result, making for a lighter pedal.

This is great, but can sometimes be an issue on Defender where the clutch biting point becomes too low, needing adjustment of the pedal to compensate.

Again that's fine except you can end up with a clutch pedal that's quite high in the rest position.

many clutch is 5 years old, i fitted the master cyclinder from LOF and I was able to still set the clutch pedal to the book height, it’s level with the brake pedal

l wonder why the pedal is so heavy on the TD5, when it would have been easier to make it lighter (just fit the helper spring as in the tdi rather than the ruddy great coil spring that they put in the TD5)

yeah often wondered that, seems like a completely backward step for no reason. Only thing I can think is some sort of corporate penny pinching?
