Hallo,
I have a light problem I can't switch on my light.
The main light switching handle don't move any more. I have a Defender TD5

It sounds like the switch has broken up internaly. If you
remove it from the vehicle you can actually see into the
back of it to confirm this.

if it's the same switch on the column as the older defenders, it can fail -
I had one melt, and I also had a replacement Britpart (which appeared
identical construction) which had an erratic contact in one of the rivetted
joints, which I solved by soldering it.

Have a 1998 300 Tdi that had the same problem when the switch broke up. Had
it replaced, but the catch is that it had a resistor in it to meet Euro
liggting regs and dimm the light when switched off. So not a straight
forward new switch has to be LR item !!
