As the Q states in a round about way, what modifications can i do to a yet to be aquired 1985-90 90. do things like bigger wheels chunky tyres, snorkels, diff guards, rock sliders.... do they effect insurance and what else can i do to prepare it for a bit of light 4x4ing or greenlaning that doesnt effect the insurance.

cheers guys and gals

Depends who you are insured with. I declared all the mods on my V8 and it didn't alter the cost of cover at all - 2" lift, big wheels, rock/tree sliders, Range Rover EFi engine - transmission - axles and brakes.

The key is declaring it and being up front with your insurer. Most landy mods shouldn't increase premium as they don't make them go faster, usually the opposite.

Ha HA i think wheels are okay... the snorkel should be alright but in a way its an engine mod. and being a young scrapper the ins. company will pick up on it when i declare it and go "NO, MORE MONEY" grab me by my ankles and ring me out. not impressed!
But i dont see why a diff guard or rock sliders another "type of safety feature" should effect the insurance. Ohwell iv got to get my landy first.

cheers:eek:
