We all know the effects on road, but what about off road, how much more unstable is a lifted vehicle on slopes etc. There must be a point where it starts to be a disadvantage.

yer, off camber is not pretty. bigger tyres also contribute to this.

Other factors to consider though are loads on the roof (rack, tent, spare wheel), interior loads. these can effect the vehicle on a side slope too. Suspension set-up also a big factor. anti roll bars? fitted would be best, but possibly loose articulation.

Im running a 2" lift on 33" tyres no ARB's with a roof tent. Some of the pistes in Morocco were scary, along with some lanes in Wales. have uprated the suspension which helps.

tit for tat.

as the guys above have said; there's a lot to it; a "lift" involves many factors, you need to consider what you want to get out of your vehicle and consider the geometry of the whole, as just 'lifting' as in bunging a set of uprated springs on can turn your Landy into a kangaroo if you're not careful!!
