Hi people, bare with me im new to owning a disco and dont know loads

Basically what im wondering is what do i need to do to lift it 2"? Iv seen the kits i.e shocks and springs which yeah i fully understand, but do i need to replace any other parts on the disco? Like props, arms etc? Just need to know what else i need to buy. Thanks.

Do a search, it's been covered many, many times. 2" is usually ok, anymore than this and you start eating props and ruining the steering.

If you want the easy budget option, you can put 2" spring spacers in that give you a lift, but you don't have to change springs or shocks. I think you miss out on articulation, so not as good for off-roading but just for looks they work ^^

2" spacers will work fine.
However, you will 'top out' the rear shock absorbers from time to time so a new +2" pair should also be on your shopping list.
To refit the rear ARB use tow bar spacers and longer bolts. ( I had to refit mine to pass the MOT )

Why do you want to lift it?

Your answer will dictate what you should or shouldn't do.

For the record, if it's to off road -- you don't need too.

If it's to fit bigger tyres on -- then there are other options.

Basically a crap lift will make it worse off AND on road.

Why do you need to lift it? What cant it do that it could if it was lifted?
Standard is standard for a reason. And the reason is that the designer thought it to be a good compromise for the average user of the vehicle.

You might try measuring the existing springs first, if they are very tired you might get a lift of almost 2" by fitting new standard height springs.
