Lift pump

Ran out of diesel the other day and it seems the little hand primer on the side of the engine is faulty as it doesn't draw fuel through anyone replaced one ? is it a pain. Guessing by the many posts about ****part I guess it's better to buy this part as a genuine it's a 2.5 na diesel by the way

I wouldn't fit a britpart one. Last one I fitted was Delphi.

The lift pump is driven by the camshaft, if the priming lever doesn't work then the pump may be sitting on the cam lobe (which will stop the priming lever working), spin the engine on the starter (half a revolution) and try again. may take a couple of goes to get it 'off cam' If you do end up changing it go for Delphi.
