Recently ran out of diesel and while using the lift pump ( believe thats the correct term for the little hand operated pump on the left of the engine), i noticed quite a leak where the pump joins the engine. Is there a part number for this or should i just use a liquid/gel gasket? Its a 2.5 N/A diesel from 1987

get some gasket paper and make a new one

What was leaking from it by the way?

Tighten it up. The 'up and down' pumping action from the cam loosens the bolts, or stretches them. I just tightened mine, sealed OK then. Or use paper/card.
