lift kit help please

Hi,
I know this subject has been talked about before but I cannot find a simple answer for a simple person.
I have a td4 and after having been on my first green lane adventure I have found a problem....... ruts made by fat defenders.
I will be fitting a lift kit but do not really want anything over 40mm to avoid extra work and wear on the camber and bearings.
Advise please.
Pros and cons of a 40mm kit plus which make is best and where do I get one?
Bearmach seem to only do a 50mm kit which needs additional work and associated extra wear and tear.

I have a 40mm kit supplied by SES88 on here. Excellent piece of kit. Had it on 18 months. I also have slightly larger tyres.
