ive gone for a terrafirma suspension lift i ordered from frogs island 2day its in a medium set up so lets hope its as good as they say shame its a boring colour tho dull grey........

i was going to buy a 2" lift kit for my 04 defender td5 from paddocks but they say they will only fit up to 98 defenders, i have asked a few friends but they say they will fit my td5 and all the springs are the same, can anyone tell me if this is true?

Going to bump this thread again as I searched before asking a question and it came up.

Am rebuilding a Defender and want to put a 2" lift kit on it. Was going to go with the bog standard Pro Comp ES9000 and Bearmach Blue springs that everywhere sells but I've got this set up on my Disco and I'm not impressed with it. I think their +2" springs are designed for load carrying and towing rather than off road articulation, as after a few weeks on the motor the front springs had settled down to about an inch higher, whereas the back stayed firm and high in the air giving the impression that the landy was angled downwards even when parked on the flat.

So I want to get some dedicated off road springs in my lift kit and was looking at the TerraFirma set up of +2" springs and All Terrain shocks. However everywhere that sells this kit states that the shocks are only standard length not extended. Can anyone shed any light on this? Are TerraFirma shocks special or will they be too short for full articulation?

You can buy terrafirma shocks in standard length, +2 inch or +5 inches. 08Mckerp runs terrafirma +2inch medium duty springs with their +5 inch shocks, flexes up pretty well

I know you can get +2" Terra Firma shocks in the Pro Sport range, however they're quite a lot dearer than the normal All Terrain ones and it's these that I wanted.

Other option I've just noticed in the latest LRO is that there's two different types of Bearmach springs, there's Heavy Duty ones and Performance Off Road ones.

Is it possible I had the Heavy Duty ones in my Disco lift kit and that's why it was higher at the back? If so are the Off Road ones the same height front and back?
