Just swapped a LHD Defender drop arm for a RHD. I searched the internet beforehand - I could find information to say that the arm sat in a slightly different circumferential position, but nothing to tell me in which direction it moved! So, for the benefit of anyone else out there with the same question:
The RHD drop arm spline pattern moves the drop arm (Pitman arm) anti-clockwise relative to the left hand drive part, when viewed from below the steering box (i.e. looking up at the output shaft of the box). The business end of the arm is about 2.5" to 3" further to the right with the right-hand-drive arm fitted than it is with the left-hand-drive arm.
I'm sure there are plenty of people on here who knew that already; I just couldn't find the information anywhere on the internet and hence had to take a punt and buy one in the knowledge that it might not do what I needed it to.
