hahaha, i know what you mean, its a very inciting 90 alright, but the LHD was a killer all together for me... ideally im looking for a 110 csw that i can commercialise so that 90 would only be worth the hassle if i could sell it on for a profit once i find the 110 i wanted, wishful thinking really :D let me know if your mate comes across a nice 300 tdi csw while he's over there :D

I was working for the MOD when the where converting LHD snatch's to RHD WMIK rovers......still interested in a run down of work invloved?

Beasty, to answer your initial question. It's a lot of work, but it can be done. I did it the other way around. RHD to LHD conversion on my own 90 and a friends 110 (both '85). I think it's basicly the same. If you need parts, try the continent. Here in the Netherlands are a lot of imported RHD's. People do not do the conversion because LHD parts are scarce and pricy. Maybe you can do a trade with closed wallets.

So what do you need:
- RHD swivel house
- RHD steering rod
- RHD steering house (4-6 bolts are interchangeable, 3 bolt uses imperial threads)
- RHD panhard bracket/steeringhouse bracket
- RHD under + upper dash
- RHD fan control (including cover)
- RHD dash grip
- RHD wiper assembly
- RHD heater/blower
- RHD handbrake bracket
- RHD wiper arms

Speedo cable and handbrake cable are longer on a LHD but will fit. If the vehicle is from the continent, you also need to change the headlights and swap the fog light and the reverse light. Last thing is quite easy. Just change the lenses and rewire the lights (the right cables are in the loom at booth sides).

Hoses for the heater will be to long, but you can cut them.

With a bit of luck, the contours for the clutch- and brake pedal are already stamped in your bulkhead. If not, just use the measurements from the left side and add 20mm to the space between the brake pedal and accelerator (I think right hand drivers have bigger feet ;)).

Also the mounting for the handbrake is easy, the holes are behind the riveted blanking plate on the seatbox. I used the RHD bracket in my LHD. It's not a 10 points solution, but it works.

I did it the conversion during the rebuilt, but if you set your alarm clock early on Saturday and have a friend to help you, you can do it in a (long) weekend.

Good luck with your decision.

Cheers
joachim
