1 had a good chassis - is this the only thing that MOT inspectors care about for structure (or do they care about bulkhead as well )
1 had a good engine and box (once I sort the seized clutch out)
1 had some nice range rover axles with disc brakes oh and an overdrive, but a dodgy gearbox
1 had a good body

Obviously the best series (out of the bits I have) would use all of the above, but I would be left with a lot of stuff over to remake and it would get kind of pricey....that aside, how long does it take to get the body off a landy and leave it with a rolling shell. what gets left (im thinking engine box, axles chassis)

There are all kinds of compromises I could make but one way or the other a body has to come off.

you,d be surprised how quick you can get to a rolling chassis, all depends on how fussy you are and what you want to keep in the process of spannering and grinding, but 3hrs was the last one i done with me eldest, nice and steady

I took mine off in a day and that was the first time I had worked on a Series Landrover. After a short while I thought what the hell am I doing trying to undo all these rusted and seized bolts that was taking all my time up and costing me skin off my knuckles.
So I reached for the angle grinder and just cut through the old bolts much quicker and the time saved totally out weighed the cost of a box of new nuts and bolts.
However I also totally under estimated the time it takes to put it all back together once you start repairing or replacing the parts that are knackered there never seems to be enough time to get anywhere.
So Far 6-7 hours to strip it.
It is now 65-70 hours spent trying to sort it out.
£500 to buy it.
£600 in replacement bits and I seems to be in a worse state than before I started, and the body panels and tub are still in the garden.
