just bought my first ever land rover should be over joyed but!!!
i bought a 1.8 year 2000 privately with no warranty. i have had it 4 weeks and the head gasket has gone well its overheating and water in the oil so i guess thats what it is.
anyway i have just booked it in to main dealer for friday and told them if this is a manufacturing problem they can repair free of charge even though it has just reached 60000 miles. i have met two people that have done this succesfully by sticking to their guns - what do you think

worth a try, if you dont ask you dont get. only problem is if you do have to pay main dealer prices, it could be quite pricey.

I got my new head gasket and heads skimmed for £150 at a local garage who luckily have an ex-landrover mechanic.
