Pick up would be good but that markets already filled with lots of choices.
The old models used to be fixable outside of main dealers, I bet if this breaks down in the middle of nowhere you'll be stuffed. I doubt it'll be anywhere as versatile as it used to be, the old meccano kit.... totally modular...... It's now just another posh 4x4

The veichel I saw didn't appear to be modular in construction. Probably makeing a variety of models such as, utility, pickup, van, etc. I was unable to see if the interior was posh or not again probably dedicated for the first purchaser and all the kit available to order to change its use.
One thing the test technition said was that it was very quiet, he having tested many vehicles from numerous manufacturers this one was abnormally quiet when driven. He also said that the 400bhp one was very rapid.

That's the thing though, if you want a quiet and rapid 4x4 wouldn't you just opt for the Range Rover, still struggling to 'get' what this new Defender is bringing to the mix. They just seem to have a cluster of very similar vehicles now

I am with you on that, the only thing that will live on is the name (possibly) the versatility of the outgoing defender will not remain. Is there still the need for a vehicle as versatile as the old defender? I am not sure there is. If there is not in sufficient numbers to sustain modern production methods that was the gripe with the old defender costs too much to assemble, could not be assembled with robotic production lines.
 
Mule vehicles are testing vehicles. They will have a lot of options. That dun't mean all vehicles will have all options. They will have a range of levels with different options yer can add.

Do you lot honestly think the starting price will be £40k?

The least popular option is a pickup 90, based on sales volume for the ole tratter.

It won't be long till it's launched.

Hi

Has a lower and upper wishbone on each wheel , all fully independent , with the suspension can also use the cross over valves ( disabling the DSC) which then allows the suspension to act like a live axle

Can’t find a full image yet as I thought that would be easier to show the set up

At least it has a chassis, and the option for coil springs. Ripe for a 200TDi conversion when the electrics fail immediately after the warranty period!
