hey up my friends,in the process of swapping a set of new LED side lights for the old lights BUT not going to well,fitted front sidelights ok,fitted near side indicator ok but when fitted front offside Indicator all the indicators light up,any ideas,there is a relay in the package but I think that is if I have a towbar or do I have to swap the original flasher relay for the LED one,there are 2 wires from each light obviously positive and negative,1991 v8 110 defender,thanks, bought them from Bearmach item no BR 9719

You have to use the relay for LEDs, as there is insufficient load from LEDs to operate a normal relay. You may still have a problem if you have a common light in the dashboard for the indicators there is a fix for that involving a couple of diodes it's on this site somewhere.
 
I had this problem the other week. I had a set of LEDs from bolt on bits. There is a small current across the lamp terminal in the dash consol. Normally not enough to cause an issue but with the very low current draw of LEDs it can be sufficient to cause both indicators to light up. Try taking the indicator warning bulb from the dash consol. If that fixes it then you can replace it with an led bulb that has an earth attached. Bolt on bits has a bulb already to fix this, cost me £15 but did sort it as promised.
