Have just fitted led lights to the defender and the only ones working are the stop & tail lights. New relay fitted that came with new lights, put old lights back in & they work ?

Did you have the polarity correct, did you try testing them directly with 12 volts?
just put new relay in as per instructions and connected all lights, cant work out why stop & tail work and nothing else

Mine went mad because of the smallest short somewhere in the old wiring.
I rectified it by putting a indicator bulb behind the dash.
The draw of electricity was greater than the short and they all work correctly.
Led are a lot less draw and will go wrong with the slightest short ( so I have been told)

Almost always the problem with LED lights not working on the first installation is polarity.
The stop/tail lights will work because the manufacturers expect the two pips to be positive and the outside of the can to be negative.
You're going to have to change the wiring around on each lampholder that isn't working. There's nothing to be afraid of, if you have to revert to ordinary filament bulbs they will work no-matter which way round they're connected.
Depending on the actual type, sidelights might need a wiring swap or if they're the wedge type then just pull the bulb and turn it round.
Normally the indicators won't work correctly when changing to LEDs because of the lower current they draw. To sort that out you're going to need either a special flasher relay for LEDs or a set of resistors to connect in parallel with the LEDs to get the existing flasher relay to work properly.

I have fitted new LED lights (brake lights, side lights and indicators).
Whilst with a bit of messing the brake lights and side light work fine.
The indicators are a different matter turning left is fine.
Turning right turns on the right indicators as well! Albeit slightly dimmer.
I have replaced the flasher unit, the main indicator switch, I have checked the current, checked the earth even tried reversing the polarity, but with no joy, I am out of ideas, can anyone help?
Cheers
Dave
