leccy window

my drivers side front window wont set (or work o the one touch) coz when it reaches the top it keeps clicking!! have had the door card off and the mechanism (bit with the teeth on seems to bounce as it clicks... hope this makes sense... just wondering if anyone one has any ideas if its down to the mechanism or is there some sort of brake on the motor thats buggered up ... :doh:

Sounds like your window regulator is knackered(the bit with the teeth).

The teeth usually ware of at the bottom causing window to not go all the way to the top which in turn means it wont set.The clicking your hearing is the motor trying to force the window up but it cant cos the teeth are worn away or missing so it then just bounces in that position.Its an easy job to sort ok

presume thats the bit that you have to drill out and re-rivett... seem to remember some one mentioned that they used a bolt to refitt the regulator ( sorry demntia setting in) but just to save me searching any idea what size bolt i should use..

I just had the same problem and i left it but finally got round to fixing it the other day, first it started clicking and wouldnt go up all the way and the longer i left it say 2-3 weeks the less it would go up so i took door card off and regulator and 4 teeth had worn off, got new one of ebay and sorted it all works fine now.

island 4x4, 35 quid. drill the rivets and get some suitable nuts and bolts. job done!!!

I used M5 stainless with nylock nuts
