Me and family had just started a trip to the beach when engine started to feel like it was locking up/having resistance. I pulled over thinking somehow the breaks were binding/getting stuck in the drum at first but then figured out it was the viscous joint on the drive shat to the rear differential. I ended up removing this by the side of the road and we got to continue our journey and make it to the sea side and back, now I'm home and it's the next day I'm wondering is it worth putting it back to 4WD or should I just leave it as 2WD? it's a freelander 1 2004 td4 s

It is not much of a 4 wheel drive if it can only send power to 2 wheels. But maybe this doesn't bother others....

Perform the One Wheel Up Test OWUT to check if the viscous coupling unit VCU is past it's best. Loads written and argued about it in the Freelander section on ere.
