hi all my 1978 sreies 3 is leaning to 1 side i have changed the springs and it now looks worse than before. It is also pulling to one side on heavy breaking but all the shoes and pistons are fine anybody any ideas what the problems mite be and how to get over them cheers.

had a leaning problem oin my series 3, found out the front spring part numbers were marked wrong, swapped em side to side and hey presto, no more leaning

could be weak or broken spring, pulling to 1 side when braking caused by weak or broken spring check the spring on the side its pulling to, leaning to 1 side and pulling to 1 side thats 2 faults self explained problem.also check the shackles 1 could be loose but i would lay abet its a weak/broken spring.

I'd check all the spring shackles and bolts, the chassis mounting plates, and the chassis itself in the general area of the spring hangers/dumb irons etc.

When my series pulled to one side we traced it to a hub seal oil leak getting into the drum, contaminating the pads .. shouldn't happen really, but did ... ;)

you got the springs on the wrong sides..

Is it the twin leading shoe brake? if it is you do know that the adjusters have to go the same way as wheel rotation, Ive know someone turn the right hand wheel adjusters clockwise and this could lead to uneven braking..

OEM springs are corner specfic most after market are front rear so pot luck...

If your brakes are pulling you too the left the problem is on the right hand side brakes usually the front check for oil, bad adjustment or just brake dust....if you have change any shoes did you deglase the braking surface of the drum????
