keep getting air in the front driver side brake, wheel cylinder looks a tad dodgy in so far as there is some corrosion under the seals, doesn't appear to be leaking fluid.

as air keeps getting in does it sound like it is leaky?

Would be pretty unusual if that was the case. Cylinder is expanded by pressure and closed to rest by spring pressure. Can't see how it could suck air in. If in doubt change it.
 
thx, think I might just do that, was hoping to go for mot today and finally get the s3 back on the road, just when you think you are getting ahead something comes along and kicks you in the slats :D
