Leaky Leak Off Pipes

over the last two years i have replace my leak off pipes 2 times a they have just started leaking again im wondering if anyone else has this issue.

or even if its an issue at all as i have no idea how often others replace them
it is only a couple of quid but still well annoying. id rather replace them with something that will never go again!!

i use halfords diesel leak of pipe the braided stuff each time

Just done mine as they had made a mess all round the injectors

I cheated though and bought a whole new rail

Is it a 300tdi? I've heard that the sound proofing cover on the top of the engine can sometimes chafe on the pipes but never seen it myself. If it isn't that and nothing is touching the pipes then it sounds like unsuitable piping (perishing due to heat)?

mine's split for the second time in 3 months.

it's the long one which splits at the engine end.

just got a new length of pipe off fleabay, and will get round to fit it once the fekkin rain stops !!!! ......... probably july !!

i dont have the sound proofing cover on never came with the car and never bothered getting one as its only going to get wet and muddy

the pip i use is the specific stuff for diesel leak of pipes so cant imagen its unsutable but was from halfords so god knows what they badge up as "the right stuff"

when mine go it always seems to be different first time was the long one second the first one this time the middle one and each time i replace all of them

I've done mine recently. Did you buy a length of tube and replace the tube or the whole rail? This is the stuff I used - 3.2mm 1/8 OVERBRAID FUEL DIESEL LEAK OFF OIL PIPE HOSE | eBay and I've had no issues with it. Just pull each pipe off in turn, hold against the length of pipe, cut off the right length and push on. The stuff I've linked to is the fabric covered stuff specific to the task, maybe the Halfords stuff is britpart Anyway, it's cheap as chips so worth trying another one anyway.

I went for some that was not braded this time see if I have better luck each time iv done it before I used the braded stuff and it just perished after around 6months

the not braided stuff i tried only lasted weeks, seemed to swell at the terminations and not give a tight fit.

Il have to keep a close eye in this stuff then cheers for the heads up
