Steve any tips on stopping those stupid bolts attaching the door top from rusting? I think the new ones I've got are zinc plated but they still end up soaked. Can't imagine my **** seal helps but they still have water running down the damn things

they are a pain... mine have been kurusted and lightly coated in copperslip..... they will regularly be off in the summer so will give em a light grease now n again

cheers steve

They are indeed. I've tried copper grease too, including giving them a spray with black paint before putting them on but doesn't seem to stop the buggers rusting. I quite liked the idea in that first video posted earlier. Not sure what they were but they replaced the standard nuts on the bolts...

yeah I didn't have much success with grease alone.... however this is my chassis a couple of years back when I stripped, wire wheeled all surface rust, kurusted and then had to leave it outside under a temp gazebo for over 12 months.... kurust protected it perfectly and 12 months later it was still blue/black with no rust... despite it being a seriously damp year

Hm that's worth a shot. I've ordered a set of the proper seals that I posted earlier anyway so anything's an improvement. I would be quite keen to get a hold of the fancy rubber window channels shown in the videos but can't find them anywhere. The felt ones are fine but nothing wrong with an upgrade

yeah I liked the look of those and the securing bolts... I have a spare set of second row tops so may have a play..

cheers steve

Her are a few of my seals showing the profile and how they have fitted.... despite the large D section at the rear the doors still bolt down to the correct profile, leaning in to make a good seal all the way around....

Bit of a topic kick, but summer is almost over. Still need to fix the doors.

Ebbadger, does RRC7575 fit on both side? or is there a left and right version?

mine leaks from this exact place. I live with it. But having said that try using a bit of silicon around the window lock frame when re-rivetting it in.

Got the new rubbers from paddock. Much thinker than the ones i had. A bit of trail and error to get the top half to sit propperly agains the doorrubbers but it looks like i might stay dry and warm the rest of the year :D

i'm not a fan of using kit, but i didn't want to take the roof off, so i do have to admit that i put kit where the sidepanels hit the under panels. :D

I am probably missing something here!
There are drain holes in the channel where the sliding windows are but where does the water go then?: there doesn't appear to be anywhere else in the door where it can drain out. The water from the window channel must be building up and then seeping out and dripping into the well.
Any offers?
